Privacy Policy
Overview
SketchQuest (“the App”, “the Service”) is a multiplayer drawing and guessing game. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using SketchQuest you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Depending on how you play, we may process:
- Account data — if you register: username, password (stored only as a secure hash), chosen avatar, role, and session token.
- Gameplay data — nickname (guests), room codes, scores, ranks / career totals, chat messages, drawings (stroke data), custom word lists, mute/kick status, and reports you submit about other players.
- Technical data — IP address used for connection and moderation (for example ban checks), and basic connection metadata required to run WebSockets.
- Device preferences — stored on your device only (for example display name, avatar choice, session token, sound mute).
We do not collect email addresses, real names, phone numbers, precise location, contacts, photos from your gallery, or advertising IDs.
How we use information
- Operate multiplayer rooms, scoring, high scores, and accounts
- Authenticate sessions and remember your login on a device
- Moderate the community (kicks, mutes, bans, staff alerts, report review)
- Keep the Service secure and diagnose connection problems
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs in the App.
Where data is stored
- On our game server — accounts, session tokens, career scores, bans, and reports are stored so the Service can function across sessions.
- In memory during a match — chat and drawings are kept for the life of the room/round and are not treated as a permanent archive.
- On your device — preferences and session token via local storage / SharedPreferences.
Sharing
Other players in a room can see your nickname or username, avatar, scores, chat, and drawings while you play. Public high scores show usernames and career stats for registered players. Staff moderators/admins may access account and report information to enforce rules.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety and integrity of the Service.
Third-party services
The mobile / web clients may load fonts from Google Fonts when online. That request is subject to Google’s own privacy policy. Hosting / network providers that deliver the Service may process IP addresses as part of normal internet traffic.
Children
SketchQuest is a general-audience party game. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has provided account data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
- Play as a guest without creating an account
- Log out to clear the stored session token on that device
- Request account deletion by contacting us (see below)
- Uninstall the App to remove local preferences from that device
Data retention
Account, score, ban, and report records are kept while the Service operates and your account remains active, or longer when needed for moderation and security. Match chat and drawings are discarded when the room ends or the server restarts.
Security
Passwords are hashed (not stored in plain text). You should still choose a unique password and use HTTPS when connecting to a production server. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
International users
The Service may be hosted in a country different from yours. By using SketchQuest you understand that information may be processed where the server is located.
Changes
We may update this policy as the App evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Contact
For privacy questions or account deletion requests, contact the SketchQuest operator through the Google Play store listing for the App, or at the support email published there.
